Architect: Kenzo Tange and Kenzo Associates
Location: Nishi- Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japn
Year Built: 2006-2008
It is a skyscraper Tokyo, was designed by Kenzo Tange before he died in 2005 and then made his studio, Kenzo Associates between 2005-2008.
It was awarded in 2008 with the ‘”Emporis Skyscraper Award” as the best skyscraper of the year.
The skyscraper is 203 meters high has its own internal 50-floor where there are three schools for about 10,000 students, a fashion (the Tokyo Mode Gakuen), design (HAL Tokyo and Shuto Iko) and medicine.
Externally the skyscraper looks twisted by aluminum tubes white (curtain wall) that go in diagonal, because of their shape a little ‘belly flop, looks like a cocoon. The intention is that really wants to be a friendly place that creates inspiration and growth for those who study it.
