“Kiritoushi” is a single-family residence situated on the threshold between an old suburban development and the rural fields.
The name derives from the sculpted shapes inversely from the inside of an outer shell simple – an excavation (‘kiritoushi’) which reveals the sequence space of a set of stairs. The external shape helps the wood frame to fit in his suburban context, a concept that is broken immediately upon entering the house. Angled cuts carve out a large space surrounded by central social program more private. The openings of various sizes connecting the interior to the exterior green fields, the creation of crossing datum of movement and light-tunnel ideal for effective ventilation and indirect control of the temperature.
