The Bridge Ōnaruto (大 鸣 门桥 Ōnaruto-kyō?, Letter. “Great Naruto Bridge”) is a suspension bridge over the Strait of Naruto place, connecting Awaji Island with the Shikoku Island. It is part of the highway that connects the city of Kobe Naruto, Tokushima prefecture. Completed in 1985, its maximum span reaches a length of 876 meters. Although it is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world, surpassed by far by the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge on the same highway.
