The project of the residence Scape House, in Shiga, Japan, comes from the need to maximize the panoramic views of the lake landscape, but without compromising its domestic intimacy. The solution of ‘architect Kouichi Kimura combines versatile spaces through the use of raw concrete and openings of both external and internal like paintings that frame the environment, creating a series of spaces comfortable and well lit, avoiding the trouble of passing on the road in front. The dynamic composition of volumes, visible from the outside, corresponds, within, a sequence of elements equally rhythmic, given by the arrangement. The perception of the inner space changes according to the change of the reflected light, which becomes an essential element of the project, to make room in the house even more flexible and versatile.
